Hi everyone, Jim Doyon here.Welcome to podcast episode 1.

Wow, podcast episode 1, this crazy stuff. I'm excited to get this out there, and I want to thank you all for listening, I'm very excited to be starting this journey with you. I'm letting you know this, my first podcast for a couple reasons.

Number one, I know it can only get better. I'm just trying to get it out there unedited. And so, if you have comments, questions, things you want to see as we go, please leave a comment below and I'll do my best to make note of that and go from there.

Secondly, I want to get this out there without it being perfect. And that's one of three takeawaysI'll share with you later on in this episode. There are three things I wish I would have done sooner my business journey, and I can't wait to share them with you.

My overall mission in bring you this podcast is to share with you actionable, strategies, roadmaps, and stories, from a diverse group of experts on how to start a business, build a brand and create your desired lifestyle.

While interviews with guest might be longer, most episodes will be under 20 minutes and packed with value.I'm currently traveling the country in RV.I will definitely get into that more later, but I tell you this now, because as I travel from City to City, I plan to use the opportunity to interview Business Leaders, and experts relative to each podcast episode. In addition, I'll be documenting my journey from co-working spaces and office spaces to exploring the city life, The Great Outdoors and everything in between.

All right, enough about that. I mean, I'd love to talk all day about getting out and exploring, mountain biking, bar hopping in every city, my family and I visit, but that's only one part, that's the lifestyle part of this podcast. In addition to that, we're going to be talking about business and branding. So let's take deeper into all three of the main pillars as podcast will be about, starting with business. This podcast is for you if you want to start a business. Right now, maybe you just have an idea. Maybe you've been stuck at a certain part of it, maybe you just aren't sure where to start, and maybe you think you don't have time to start. My goal on this journey is to help you overcome all of that, and start generating income. Maybe you think you have what it takes to start a business, or maybe you don't, maybe you've got this incredible skill, your master of your trade. You're an artist, you're a grower, you brew, you create, but you don't know how to take that skill and start a business. You aren't making money when you aren't working in your craft, and you want more, this podcast is meant to help you implement a structure around starting a business. It's meant to help you create an income stream that pays you, even when you aren't working with your hands, it pays you while you sleep. It means to help you develop an actual business, something tangible that allows you to live your desired lifestyle. So if that's you then I hope you'll see value what I have to share with you.

The first pillar and not in chronological order is about creating a business, that's your foundation, it's your processes, your systems.

And then the second is the fun part, the sexy part of a business. It's how to build a brand, they're very different, but they're both very important. So if you've already established a business, Maybe it's brand new, maybe been running it for years, regardless of Industry, geographic location, the amount of Revenue it generates, this podcast is for you if you want to learn how to build an actual brand, a sought-after, community-driven, word-of-mouth, promoted brand.

And last but not least, this podcast is for you if you are seeking a better lifestyle for yourself, while embarking on this entrepreneurial Journey.Maybe you're looking for more work life balance, more quality family time, or maybe you're looking to create more time for yourself to travel and explore, to not be tied down but instead, living your best life, that's where I come in, your host on this journey.

My name is Jim Doyon. I'm a father to three awesome kids, husband to an incredible wife and the oldest sibling to a large split family.I'm currently on a mission and I can't wait to share with you. We sold our house back in 2020, and we've been traveling this beautiful country in a 42-foot Travel trailer ever since. We visited 34 states, and are about to embark on our second loop around the country, stopping at some of our favorite spots again, but also getting to see new areas that the US has to offer. We are trying to experience this life to its fullest spending quality time together. I'm running a business and building brands along the road. We've been fortunate enough on this journey to meet new friends, catch up with old friends and family on many of our stops. We love exploring each City from downtown's to the natural resources it has to offer. I'm passionate about mountain biking and it's not only in my way to get out and explore but to exercise, clear my head, think, and strategize.

Family is what drives me, well my passion is business and it has been for as far back as I can remember. I've started for companies or brands in a variety of spaces and throughout different times in my life. And I tell you this, because no matter where you want to start, no matter what you want to start, no matter what kind of brand you want to create, this podcast can deliver valuable information to you.

The industries have created businesses or build brands and evolve have all been different. They've been all over the place from valet parking and auto detailing, to a brand I built for another company that was in the remainingmanufacturing and Industrial Lumber industry. I built a clothing brand and now my current company helps brands grow through branding and promotional marketing. I've walked away from one, built another for someone else, successfully exited one and I'm currently running another and no, this is not all been on my own, my first company was, but then I started a brand for a large company and thankfully I've been fortunate enough to have an awesome business partner in the last two businesses I've had. My old college roommate and it’s what we joke and call my life partner, Nathan. We're great friends, we've had our ups and downs, but together, we've built a company and sold it, and now we're growing our second company. The revenue and net income of all vary the size of the workforce, for each business of varied, I'd ran service and Manufacturing businesses to e-commerce businesses, both business-to-business and B to C business to Consumer. And in my most current business, my team and I have the opportunity of helping other companies grow into something bigger, grow into a Lifestyle brand through our branding and promotional marketing agency. My point is, I started my first company 20 years ago. I didn't just read a book and decide to start a podcast. I'm on a mission to help you learn from my mistakes. I'm not sitting on my ass, wishing I made something more of myself. I'm traveling the country with my family running a business and living my best life and if I can do it, so can you. When I say, I really mean when I say, I, I really mean we, I have a great support system in my wife, my business partner, Nathan, my friends, my family, my clients and now hopefully with you. I'm definitely not perfect, I’m not going to act like I know everything. My goal is to bring experts into this podcast and let them share with us aspects of business, branding and lifestyle that will help you and I on our Journeys. This podcast will provide you with actual strategies you can implement right away. It'll provide you with roadmaps that myself and other guests have used to see results. It will be run a mix between office setting to wherever I might be at in the country. I'll go solo as well as interview guests that convey that can bring value to our mission. So imagine this scenario, what if you were suddenly running your own profitable business one that had a large following and most of your traffic was from word of mouth and best of all, what if you could do this on your own terms? Sound like a stretch? I used to think so too, until it happened to me. I've also used the same exact thing I'm going to share with you to help well known brands generate a community and grow a brand around them. So with that, I hope that you will join me on this podcast Journey.

In the beginning of this episode, I told you I would leave you with three things that I wish I would have done when I first started.

Number one, build a business.Don't worry about perfection, get it out there. You can fine-tune it later. It's like what I'm doing this podcast. I know this episode is probably rough, it's only going to get better from here as my confidence goes up, as I get feedback, I'll make the changes necessary. I'll make the changes that you, my community want to see. Whether it's a logo, a new product, your website, just get it out there. Recently, I read a book by Michael Masterson called Ready, Fire, Aim, and he goes into this in better detail, it's a really good book that goes to the growth stages of every business.

The second thing is about building a brand. So I leave you with this thought before you spend any money on Advertising, think about something.Think about who your community is and who you're trying to reach. Are you currently doing everything to get in front of that community, and submerse yourself in it and deliver them value before you spend money on advertising. We'll go under that in further detail but listening to yourself and really doing the research, finding out who you can partner with, or what you can do to have a bigger impact in that community, those are things that will make a big change in your current brand and help you to start to build a community and a lifestyle around your brand.

So, the last takeaway for this episode has to do with creating your lifestyle. Too many times, I've seen people get caught up with creating a business plan and how the business is going to work, and I've been guilty of doing it myself. When instead, before you spend any more time, stop, reflect and really try to understand what you personally want out of this business, and it's different for everyone. And if you have a partner, perfect, bring them into a two, both go through the exercise and it’s okay if it's different than what your partner or your family want. But it's super important to understand what you want out of your business before you jump into it, or maybe you've been doing the same thing for a really long time, maybe you've been running a business and you aren't happy. It's because you've created something that doesn't align with your passion. If you understand this, and get behind of what I just said, the rest will fall into place and it's not too late go back and really write out what you want and we'll go into that further in detail. In fact, the next few episodes will discuss just that.

So with that, I want to thank you for joining me.

And until next time.

I wish you success in starting a company, building a brand, and creating your desired lifestyle.
